| January 30th - It is with deep regret that the members of the Tacoma Fire Company announce the passing of Retired Chief Harold "Bubby" Angeroth at the age of 89. Bubby joined the Tacoma Fire Company in 1937, and became Fire Chief in 1959. He held that position until 1983. Bubby then held the position of Fire Chief once again in 1985, for a total of 26 years as Chief.
Bubby was a strong presence around the firehouse, leading by example. Bubby was honored by the Deptford Township Mayor and Council by being inducted into the Volunteer Hall of Fame with the Inaugural Class in 2007. He was then honored by the Gloucester County Board of Freeholders, and the New Jersey State Legislature for his 72 years of service at the Gloucester County Fire Chief's Association annual awards banquet on January 14, 2010.
Information for Services
Viewing will be at the McGuinness Funeral Home on Thursday, February 4th from 1830 to 2100hrs. The funeral will be Friday, February 5th. The viewing then will be from 1030 to 1130hrs, with the service at the funeral home at 1130hrs. Burial will be at the Woodbury Memorial Cemetary on Kings Hwy and Jessup Rd., in West Deptford. The members of the Deptford Fire Department are to muster at the parking lot of the Criminal Justice Complex on Hunter Street in Woodbury at 1830hrs, in either your Class A Uniform, or Class B with tie and white gloves. Members will go to the viewing as a department. On Friday, members are to report to the funeral home at 1030hrs, and there will be additional parking available for apparatus for the procession.

| January 24th - On Sunday around 0428hrs, Tower Ladder 926 was dispatched on the 2nd Alarm to Gloucester City for an industrial building fire. Upon arrival, a 300 x 300 4-story building was well involved. Tower Ladder 926 was detailed to the D - Delta division and went into ladder pipe operations. The fire had gone to 5 alarms. Water supply for the delta division was supplied by a 6000' 4" relay from Broadway and Jersey Avenue into the job, as well as by the Philadelphia Fire Department fire boat "Independence". The job was placed under control at 0700 and Tower Ladder 926 went available at 0800 hours.

| January 17th - On Sunday around 1917hrs, Battalion 2 was dispatched to 120 Pop Moylan Blvd, the Deptford Park Apartments, to assist EMS. Upon arrival the crew was presented with a person who was stuck in an electric wheel chair, which had broken in the horizontal position. The crew physically took the wheel chair apart and assisted with the removal of the patient from one chair to another, and assisted her back into her apartment.

| January 14th - On Thursday, the Gloucester County Chief's Association held their annual awards banquet. Three members of Battalion Two received honors at the banquet.
Battalion Chief Rich Thomas received a Distinguished Service Citation for his actions at an EMS call on Almonesson Rd.
Firefighter Michael Barbato received a Life Saving Citation for his actions with saving his grandfather who had suffered a heart attack.
Jules Hnatyshyn received honors for his dedication of service, for serving with the Tacoma Fire Company for 52 years.
Retired Chief Harold "Bubby" Angeroth received honors for his dedication of service, for serving with the Tacoma Fire Company for 72 years.

| January 12th - Around 1900hrs, Battalion 3 was dispatched for a dwelling fire on Warwick Rd. Upon the arrival of B/C Chris Pfeiffer (9301), he reported a 2 1/2 story wood frame dwelling with heavy fire above the 2nd floor. The all hands was struck bringing in additional units. B/C Rich Thomas responded on the all hands and assisted with suppression, salvage, and overhaul. Engine 922 responded to the Cooper Street station for the cover, and Engine 921, returning from the fuel depot, responded as a water supply engine, but was detailed to providing lighting for the area.

| January 7th - Around 1722hrs, Battalion 2 was dispatched to the City of Woodbury at 18 Laurel Street for a dwelling fire. Upon arrival, Engine 921's crew was detailed as a RIC team and assigned to the A/D corner. The crew surveyed the scene, making sure there were ground ladders in place, plenty of lighting, and determined the entry and exit points of the dwelling. The initial crew was working a basement fire and mutual aid companies were checking additional floors for extension. The fire was placed under control at the 30 minute mark.

| December 31st - Around 2135hrs, Engine 921 was dispatched to the New Jersey Turnpike at the 26.0 mile marker northbound for a motor vehicle crash. Upon the arrival of 9201 (Thomas), he found a serious four-vehicle crash with one person entrapped in her car. B/C Thomas requested 4 BLS units and 1 ALS unit to the crash. Engine 921 received orders to block the lane of travel, light up the area, and begin the extrication process. 921's crew used the Hurst spreader and the MOC cutter to remove the two left side doors and the entire "B" post. ALS gained access to the patient and requested the roof to be removed. This was completed with the assistance of Bellmawr FD. Once all of the patients were treated and transported, Engine 921 remained on location to assist the NJ State Police with lighting for their investigation.

| December 4th - On December 4th, members of Battalion Two received honors at the annual Deptford Fire Department Awards Banquet.
Battalion Chief Rich Thomas received a Life Saving Award for his actions at an assist EMS call on Almonesson Rd. B/C Thomas arrived to find an unconscious person. He administered aid and began CPR using an AED and continued this aid until the arrival of EMS.
Lieutenants David McIntyre and Bryant Fiddler each received educational honors for successful completion of Fire Officer I & II, and Firefighter II training.
